Domein Cuvelier
In the heart of the blossom region in Haspengouw, Yves Cuvelier runs Domein Cuvelier, together with his brother Patrick and wife Miet. What started in 2000 with the planting of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, was supplemented over the years with Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and some atypical grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Petit Meslier. Spread over an area of approximately 3 hectares, there are approximately 13,500 sticks under the Limburg sun.
Passion for wine
Yves and Patrick were raised among the pear and apple trees and share a passion for wine. Yves is a fruit merchant and makes the wine, Patrick is a fruit grower and can always be found in the vineyard. Yves' wife, Miet, also contributes to the story and takes care of the creative and administrative aspects.
Sparkling & still wines
The focus at Domein Cuvelier is mainly on sparkling wines according to the méthode traditionnelle. They are characterized by their pure, fruity character and a fresh acidity in the aftertaste. Yves also likes to focus on making still wines, some of which enjoy maturation in barrique. One of these is the BizNoir, an elegant Pinot Noir that has matured for 10 months in oak barrels.
